Anika is an assistant professor at Leiden University. She received her PhD in 2013 form the University of Amsterdam. Her PhD focused risk-taking in adolescents with mild-to-borderline intellectual disability. She combined the PhD project with working in practice with adolescents with mild to borderline intellectual disability and severe conduct problems and attained her post-master mental health psychologist certification After finishing the combined PhD/mental health certification project, she started at Leiden University and GGZ Delfland. At GGZ Delfland she works children (0-18) with a broad range of mental health problems and where she is will finish her post-master education for clinical psychologist in 2019. At Leiden University she teaches clinical skills. Now, at the B&D lab she will focus on extending het PhD research into adolescents with mild to borderline intellectual disability. She is further interested in the application of findings form affective neuroscience to improve psychological interventions and to test the efficacy of these interventions.
