Marieke is an assistant professor in the Brain & Development center. She received her PhD in 2014 from the University of Amsterdam, in which she examined the plasticity of emotional memory. In her PhD she used controlled experimental paradigms and combined fields of experimental psychopathology and behavior neuroscience. She then moved to Leiden for her first post-doc period with Carolien Rieffe studying the development of psychopathology in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In March 2016, Marieke joined the B&D center for her second post-doc period. Now, in the B&D center she is interested in analyzing longitudinal changes in brain structure and function related to the development of psychopathology.
