Dorien Huijser is a second-year research master student of Neuroscience and Cognition at Utrecht University. She finished her bachelor in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Utrecht University, with a major in cognitive and neurobiological psychology and a minor in language development. Her broad interest lead to her writing her bachelor thesis about the constructs of popularity and likeability in primary school pupils, whereas her first research internship involved the neural mechanisms of sound localization. Dorien has joined the Brain and Development Research Center for six months to assist in the Brainlinks study on the development of prosocial behavior in adolescents. During her time here, she hopes to learn more about the interesting period that is adolescence and to learn how to acquire and analyse fMRI data.
